So the “off season” can really make you feel off. I’ve been going to the gym, but I have to admit for the last few weeks I’ve been in maintenance mode. I was trying to let my Plantar Fasciitis heal and stay away from running. So for me that means workouts on the eliptical, bike, and swimming laps. I also have started to incorporate weights, but without a race on the horizon… it is hard not to feel antsy.
I have been really wanting to sign up for the Lonestar Ironman 70.3 race in Galveston, Texas. My older sister and brother both live in Texas and both are triathletes. I was nervous the spots would fill up and I’d miss my chance…. but after a few back and forth emails to my siblings, I pulled the trigger today. I am officially registered for the race on April 10, 2011.
Graciously, my siblings have offered to help me get there with frequent flyer miles and an early birthday present/contribution to my entry fees. And of course the ultimate camaraderie with both of them on the course. My sister has signed up for the 70.3. And so far my brother has committed to the sprint… but we’ve got him leaning to signing up for the 70.3 race, as well.
I smell a wager coming on….
